To build generational wealth, you need to be sober. Wanting to build wealth while drinking and smoking are two conflicting desires — they simply cannot go together.
Think about it. You are reading books, learning new skills, exploring AI, going to the gym, investing your money, and planning to start a business. You are doing all the right things. But at the same time, if you are smoking and drinking, you are slowly killing yourself and destroying your own future. Everything you are building on one side, you are tearing down on the other.
Building wealth takes time. It compounds over a long period. Most people become millionaires in their forties. That means you need to be alive, healthy, and sharp for decades. But addiction cuts your life short. It damages your brain, your body, your focus, and your discipline. Your plans will fall apart not because you lacked talent or intelligence, but simply because you could not stay sober long enough to see them through.
Here is a hard truth — people who are less talented than you but are sober will outperform you in the long run. They will make more money, live longer, and achieve more. Not because they are smarter, but because they stayed consistent and healthy while you were destroying yourself.
I have come to realize that addiction is for people who have no long term goals. People who do not think about the future, who only live for today’s pleasure and do not care about how far they go in life. But you are not that person. You have goals. You have a vision. You want to go far.
Then act like it. Protect your body. Protect your mind. Protect your future.
Be sober, live long, and build wealth.
