Everyone says that if you work hard, you will be successful. But that is not true.
If hard work alone led to success, then everyone in the world would be successful today. Because everyone works hard. Everyone works 8 to 10 hours a day. But not everyone is successful. From a laborer to a company CEO, everyone works hard. But not everyone is successful. Not everyone earns the same amount of money. So, hard work alone does not lead to success.
“What you work on is more important than working hard.”
Hard work is important, but it is more important what you work on. Everyone works hard, but their output is different. And this output depends on what you work on. A village laborer works in the fields all day long, and a company CEO also works in the office all day long. But a laborer earns less money and a CEO earns more money.
How much money you earn depends on how much value you create, not how hard you work. And value simply means how many people are benefiting from your work. When a laborer works, only one person benefits from it, and that is his owner. But when a CEO works, like Amazon, he is creating more value. And the laborer is creating less value. That’s why Jeff Bezos is rich and the laborer is poor.
So hard work doesn’t matter. What you work hard on matters.
So if you are doing something that only benefits a few people, and you keep thinking to yourself that you will become a millionaire someday, it is not going to happen.
“You need to do something that has an impact on thousands of people. Only then is it possible for you to become rich.”
